Why Transition Off Grain?
Switching from grain to a forage-based, supplement-focused diet supports:
– Healthier gut function
– Reduced risk of ulcers
– Improved behavior & focus
– Stronger immune system & resilience
Follow these steps to ensure a smooth transition for your horse.
Step 1: Reduce Grain Gradually
Taper grain over 7–10 days.
– Reduce by 20–25% every two days.
– Replace grain with a forage-based pellet (soaked if needed to prevent choke).
– This slow transition prevents digestive upset and stress.
Step 2: Increase Forage
– Feed 1.5–2% of body weight daily in high-quality hay.
– Grass hay and alfalfa provide essential fiber to keep digestion active and healthy.
– Unlimited access to clean, fresh water is essential.
Step 3: Start Ulcer Defense Emergency Formula
– Begin with ¼ scoop daily (mix into damp feed).
– Supports stomach comfort during transition.
– After 30 days, reassess — finish 60 supply, switch to maintenance formula for ongoing gut support
– For picky eaters or horses or decreased appetite: mix with unsweetened applesauce or water and administer orally for 1–2 weeks.
-We recommend the emergency formula twice a year.
Step 4: Add Victory
– Begin after 3–4 days on Ulcer Defense after grain is fully stopped.
– Start with ¼ scoop, gradually increase to 1 full scoop daily over 3–4 days.
– Supports a balanced gut microbiome, nutrient absorption, and immunity.
– Use daily for best results.
Step 5: Monitor Your Horse
– Watch for changes in energy levels, behavior, and signs of discomfort.
– Adjust transition speed if needed.
Step 6: Introduce Dragon Tamer (As needed)
– Add after 2 weeks on Ulcer Defense + Victory.
– For metabolic horses (e.g., with Cushing’s), feed daily alongside other supplements for best support.
– Otherwise, use as needed for additional calming and recovery benefits.
Rescue horse with trauma history. Competition horse who’s burned out. Performance horse with chronic ulcers and anxiety. They’re struggling—physically, mentally, emotionally. You need complete transformation, not just symptom management.
Time is critical. You can’t wait months for results. You need the fastest, most effective protocol available.
The Warhorse QRF Protocol is the most comprehensive, fastest-acting protocol we offer. It attacks the problem from three angles simultaneously: gut microbiome reset (Victory), addressing ulcers (Ulcer Defense), and stress hormone control (Dragon Tamer).
What’s Inside:
This is the protocol for horses who need everything, fast. Save $130 vs. buying separately.
In 2 weeks, attitude improves dramatically (stress control + gut support). In 30 days, weight gain and coat improvement begin (nutrition). In 60 days, muscle development and consistent behavior (complete healing). In 90 days, your horse is transformed—healthy, calm, and thriving.
Why it works: Horses with severe issues need comprehensive support. Warhorse Protocol addresses gut bacteria (the root cause of ulcers), stress hormones (the root cause of anxiety), and nutrition (the foundation of healing)—all at once. It’s the fastest path to complete wellness.
Warhorse Protocol is ideal for rescue horses with trauma history, horses with severe ulcers and chronic anxiety, competition horses who are burned out, horses in intense training programs, and any horse who needs rapid, complete transformation.

Warhorse Protocol is designed for horses with severe, multiple issues who need rapid transformation. It’s the same three products as Victory Protocol, but positioned for horses in crisis or intense work.
Most horses show dramatic attitude improvements within 2 weeks. Physical improvements (weight, coat, muscle) take 30-60 days. Complete transformation typically occurs in 90 days.
Yes. It’s ideal for rescue horses with unknown history, trauma, or severe neglect. The combination of gut healing, nutrition, and stress management addresses the most common rescue horse issues.
Yes. Many customers continue using it as their complete daily program. After the initial 60-day healing phase, you can switch Ulcer Defense to the Maintenance Formula.

Our mare was diagnosed with Grade 2 ulcers and the vet put her on UlcerGard and other products. She did very well during the treatment; but after she finished the medication, she was back to her old self-not wanting to back in the roping box and rearing. The vet wanted to do another round of antacid; but after doing some research, I knew there had to be a better option. I found the Warhorse protocol and decided to give it a try. We have transitioned all 3 of our calf horses over to the Ulcer Defense and Victory. We slowly introduced our mare back to the roping box and she is back to her calm self. I am so happy I found the Victory and feel so much better feeding our horses this instead of the grain overload. And actually we our saving money compared to supplements, grain, and UlcerGard.
